Developing the Powered Light Vehicles market for Freight and Personal Mobility

Zemo Partnership is working to shape and stimulate policies and opportunities that drive the widespread uptake of zero emission L-category PLVs for light freight and urban personal mobility – starting with the delivery of the joint ‘action plan’ agreed with industry and government.

Full Project Brief (members only)

  • Create of a formal L-category community to interface with government
  • Develop the manufacturing base and supply chain in the UK for L3 powered two wheelers and L7 cargo delivery vehicles
  • Engage with Local Authorities for inclusion of PLVs in an integrated transport solution
  • Ensure zero emission PLVs are incorporated into the EV charging infrastructure
  • Support MCIA activities related to other elements of the PLV Action Plan.
  • A PLV working group formed of stakeholders from industry, Government and academia, meeting formally on a quarterly basis through a series of workshops
  • A proposal for a L3 feasibility study competition focused on the component supply chain
  • A proposal for an L7 feasibility study competition focused on the development of an e-cargo vehicle
  • Creation of PLV content for inclusion in the LA Toolkit
  • Recommendations for inclusion of PLVs in EV infrastructure development
  • UK-wide funding competitions for the development of L3 and L7 technology
  • Support the MCIA in the promotion of the UK PLV sector through a national showcase event and a public awareness campaign (TBC).
