The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership is an action and advisory group, established in 2003 to take a lead in accelerating the shift to low carbon vehicles and fuels in the UK and to help ensure that UK business can benefit from that shift.
The LowCVP is a partnership of over 270 organisations from the automotive and fuel industries, the environmental sector, government, academia, road user groups and other organisations with a stake in the low carbon vehicles and fuels agenda.

US Government introduces tougher than expected car fuel economy rules

The US Government has issued new rules which mean that US car makers must raise average fuel efficiency of their cars and trucks to 31.6 miles per gallon, from today's 25, by 2015. The rules are more aggressive than were anticipated when first announced in last year's Energy Bill and have been interpreted as an attempt by Washington to undermine States' efforts to take control of the issue.

China's BYD Auto introduces electric car with 186 mile range

BYD Auto has introduced an electric 5-seat crossover/MPV concept which the makers claim can travel 300km (186 miles) on a full battery charge.
