Project Brief

Engagement with stakeholders overseas and within the UK involved in other low emission/sustainable freight schemes, to build mutual understanding, identify relevant good/best practices and explore opportunities for mutual recognition/accreditation.


  • To learn from international good practice to raise awareness and demand for the LowCVP’s accreditation scheme and its wider commercial vehicle technology evaluation activities.
  • To build on freight carbon review and AQ agendas
  • To bring together various green/smart/safe UK freight transport initiatives:
    • Map out their individual scopes
    • Identify synergies and opportunities to enhance/strengthen
    • Identify gaps and options to fill them
    • Identify what can be industry-led and where DfT could/should play a role


A report detailing findings and making recommendations to enhance UK freight activity.
