A total of £350,000 will be given to six winners of Shell Springboard 2019 for the implementation of the best, innovative low carbon business ideas.

Shell Springboard winners receive:

  • ‘no-strings attached’ funding of £40,000 for each of the six regional winners plus additional £110,000 for one national winner
  • the opportunity to tell your story in national and local media and generate positive publicity
  • a respected ‘quality assurance’ stamp from experts in the low-carbon sector to help open doors and attract investor interest.

Running since 2005, more than eight out of ten (84%) of Shell Springboard-supported companies are still in business five years after starting up, compared to the national average of around 45%.

“Being involved in the Shell Springboard programme has been an amazing experience – each stage has been challenging and really helped us refine our business idea.” Charlie Paton, Seawater Greenhouse

“I believe that this funding and the wider business support we will receive can accelerate our plans.” Dr Graham Oakes, Founder and CEO, Upside Energy

"To bring our technology to commercialization, we need publicity and funding, and this award provides both.” Professor Christopher Rayner, C-Capture

Entries should be submitted by 10am on 29th October.
