Wave Industries is a new joint venture company. A partnership between Cad Cam Automotive Ltd - a UK tier one supplier to JLR, and BKM a manufacturer with over fifty years history of electric bus manufacture. The venture will be assembling e-buses in the UK. The agreement was signed by CAD CAM Automotive in the presence of Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas in London on 21 November. The UK has ambitious goals to convert to environmentally friendly transport - from creating Zero Emissions zones in cities to the full ban on sales of cars running on gas-engine fuel by 2040. The plan is to start with a trial operation PM Rumas said “The pilot project to use the Belarusian electric bus in the UK, which will be launched shortly, will demonstrate the advantages of this mode of transport and show our British partners that Belarus is capable of producing high-quality electric buses,” With sustainable sales, the assembly facility will target initial production of 300 vehicles per year in the first instance, ramping up to 600 units on year 5. Alongside the planned bus production, there is also a plan to jointly develop a range of modular EV delivery vehicles for both the UK market and export.
