EDFE work with policymakers, parliamentarians, businesses and the public to facilitate increased supply and uptake of electric vehicles. This is done by working to develop policies that will give both suppliers and users confidence in the future pathway of vehicles, by promoting public understanding of the need to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions from transport, and by helping new industries understand the benefits of new technologies and how best to utilise them. We manage the Breathe London project, a collaboration with many stakeholders including Google and the Mayor of London, capturing air quality data via over a hundred indicative monitors. This information is shared with the public and used to capture policy insights, and EDFE is working to improve that air quality legislation with ally NGOs. We have engaged extensively on transport decarbonisation policy, running stakeholder workshops and working with members of the House of Lords to secure amendments to the Automated and Electric Vehicles Act that will ensure an effective network of charge points is installed. We are looking to set up a decarbonisation pilot in the grocery delivery sector to help businesses introduce electric trucks to their fleets.
