Wed 26 March 2014 | Back to news list

First Hampshire is to introduce 22 Wrightbus StreetLite micro-hybrids, representing an investment of £4.4million, to two routes in the Portsmouth area from May. A third route, in Fareham, will get nine new Optare Solos. The StreetLite micro-hybrids follow 41 diesel StreetLites delivered last year for Portsmouth routes.
Chrissie Bainbridge, general manager of First Hampshire, says: “This is another step forward in the significant investment First is making to enhance and improve its services to local communities throughout the Solent area. These services are designed to make travelling to the main centres of Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport as easy and convenient as possible for our customers. ’
