  • This conference will examine how the car manufacturing industry can contribute to the wider aims of transport policy. It will examine the technical and commercial feasibility for manufacturers of adopting a new approach and the time and incentives they would need to adjust. It will look at the ways in which reforms in transport policy could facilitate the transition from today’s cars to more socially and environmentally friendly vehicles.

  • This lecture by Rob Rickell will examine the development of an innovative new design of constant velocity joint (CVJ) for passenger car drivelines. This has been the first major change since the basic concept of the CVJ was developed in the 1930s by Alfred Rzeppa. The lecture will provide the opportunity to find out more about the innovative design of the new joint, which will result in improved fuel economy and a reduction in CO2 emissions.

  • The Bibendum Challenge

    The Bibendum Challenge is an annual global event promoting sustainable motoring. It is a scientific and technical event, created and sponsored by Michelin since 1998 hosted by different countries. It aims at promoting innovation to address the challenges of modern road mobility. The 2007 is from the 13-16th November in Shanghai.

  • Michael Roberts, Director of Business Environment at the CBI, will provide the keynote address at this conference on the subject of the Commission for Integrated Transport's new report 'Transport and Climate Change'. The conference, organised by the Waterfront Conference Company and presented in association with the LowCVP, will also will feature an address by Prof Julia King following the publication of the interim King/Stern report on decarbonising the UK's road transport sector. There will be discussions on current policy developments including the prospects for European new car CO2 regulation and responses from the motor industry.
