Joint  Fuels and Commercial Vehicle Working Group Meeting

Joint meeting of the FWG and CVWG at the University of Brighton to discuss Future Fuels for the Heavy Duty Sector.

This will be a joint meeting with LowCVP’s Fuels and Commercial Vehicles Working Group.

The agenda, minutes from the previous meeting and other relevant papers will be circulated nearer the time but the main items for discussion are likely to be:

  • Presentation by Dr Penny Atkins on Brighton’s Heavy Duty Engines and Fuels research
  • Presentations by Ellie Davies on the Committee on Climate Change’s recent reports into biomass and hydrogen and their role in road transport, particularly HGVs
  • Ideas, priorities and funding sources for the LowCVP 2019/20 Work Programme, e.g. ULET standards development, VECTO effectiveness, Road To Zero implementation, biofuel uptake, urban fleet electrification (please get your thinking caps on beforehand and come up with your own suggestions)
  • Updates on 2018 projects, e.g. RCV testing, LEFT, TRUs, PIVG for N2 & N3 and EV range testing
  • Supporting the 15% voluntary industry commitment

The meeting will start at 10:30am and end no later than 3:30pm.

Please be advised that parking is very limited on site due to ongoing building works so arriving by train is highly recommended; the station (Moulsecoomb) is right next door to the university.
