Government says merging DECC and BIS will enable "whole economy approach to delivering climate change ambitions"

The Government says that the merger of DECC and BIS means that the UK "will be best placed to deliver the significant new investment and innovation needed to support the UK’s future energy policy" according to an 'explanatory note' published following the announcement of the merger. The note says the move will enable a "whole economy approach to delivering our climate change ambitions, effectively balancing the priorities of growth and carbon reduction."


OLEV and Innovate UK announce £24m low emission freight and logistics trial Competition

A new £24m funding competition has been launched by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) with support from Innovate UK to enable industry-led research trials and development of innovative vehicles or on-vehicle technology.  The competition's aim is to trial or develop low emission vehicles in the freight, logistics, utilities and emergency industries. 


Mayor announces low emission bus routes in London

Sadiq Khan, London's Mayor, has announced plans for the first of a series of ‘Low Emission Bus Zones’ which he says will "prioritise the greenest buses on the worst polluted routes, as part of his far-reaching plans to clean up the capital’s toxic air".

LowCVP activities at LCV2016: networking dinner, bus showcase, UK Pavilion

The LowCVP will be showcasing the UK industry's successful introduction of greener buses at Cenex's LCV2016 event on September 14-15, as well as collaborating with other government-linked and funding agencies in a new 'UK Pavilion'  which is set to be a central feature of the show. The LowCVP will also, for the third time, be co-hosting with Cenex the networking Champions Awards dinner which has become an increasingly popular feature of the show in recent years. 


Formula E presenter Nicki Shields confirmed as MC for LowCVP Champions Awards

The LowCVP and Cenex-LCV2016 are delighted to announce that Formula E television presenter and science communicator Nicki Shields will be the Master of Ceremonies for this year’s LowCVP Low Carbon Champions Awards on 14 September.


Cenex LCV2016 seminar programme launched

Cenex has announced the seminar programme for this year's national Low Carbon Vehicle Event (LCV2016), the UK’s largest technology showcasing and networking event for the UK low carbon vehicle community. The winning 'Go Ultra Low Cities' competition winners will be among the exhibitors at the event.
