Advanced Fuels

Project Brief

The project will look at the opportunities for the UK to benefit from the development of the next generation of advanced fuels across the innovation process. Building on the work of the Transport Energy Task Force which recommended that future fuels policy framework should be based on minimising GHG and sustainability criteria, the project will seek to understand the potential growth benefits and how these should be secured for the UK.

Objectives

  • To understand the innovation process for advanced fuels.
  • To understand the growth potential for advanced fuels in the UK.
  • To identify UK capability in advanced fuels.
  • To identify barriers to developing and deploying advanced fuels in the UK.
  • To inform policy framework to encourage R,D&D in the UK.

Deliverables and Dissemination

  • Publish a report to inform understanding about the UK potential to benefit from the development and deployment of advanced fuels.
  • Set of detailed recommendations for supporting the R,D&D of advanced fuels in the UK.
