Main areas of involvement in the low carbon transport agenda
Highbury is a specialist consultancy with unrivalled expertise in maximising value from original ideas and new products. This is achieved through Intellectual Property (IP) protection, valuation, development and licensing.
Highbury has the know-how and strategic vision to make a genuine, measurable and profitable impact on any innovative organisation – be it a single inventor, small-or medium-sized company, or multinational corporation.
Highbury focuses on technologies that will make a significant difference. It has specialist expertise in the fields of biotechnology, automotive, engineering and the environment and targets low carbon technologies where these fields overlap, such as biofuels, alternate energy production, emission reduction technology and hybrid technologies.
Highbury provides an individual, customised approach to meet the needs and expectations of every client it works with. The company’s method involves bringing together specialist teams to tackle four distinct areas:
1. Understanding your idea or innovation;
2. Protecting it;
3. Maximising its value; and then
4. Realising its value.
Current or future activities / projects / initiatives in which Highbury Ltd is involved in to encourage low carbon transport.
Highbury is currently assisting a research and development company in setting up UK and European trials for a hybrid technology which significantly reduces the carbon emissions of heavy goods vehicles in the urban environment. Highbury has opened a bio-incubator at the BioPark in Welwyn Garden city to assist small companies with low carbon technologies set-up in the UK and European market. This facility will provide a base to local and overseas companies while they research their markets and develop their take to market strategies. Highbury is an active member of the Environmental Industries Commission and sits on a number of their working groups including the Transport Pollution, Biofuels and Business and Innovation. Our aim is to reduce the barriers faced by new low carbon technologies in reaching the market.
