Main areas of involvement in the low carbon transport agenda
Carplus promotes responsible car use through development and support of car clubs and car sharing schemes. The average driver will reduce their annual car related carbon emissions by approximately one fifth of a tonne on joining a car club. (Based on a very conservative estimate of 6000kms pa)
Current or future activities / projects / initiatives in which Carplus Trust is involved in to encourage low carbon transport.
Carplus has submitted a proposal to the Department for Transport outlining a scheme to roll out car clubs across the country. Over the four year programme the schemes will generate a reduction of carbon emmissions of over 180 000 tonnes pa. After a further ten years the annual saving will be more than 280 000 tonnes of carbon.
