LowCVP Webinar: Technical and environmental properties of European passenger cars - ICCT Pocketbook of unique data

In January 2012 the ICCT published the first edition of its "Pocketbook European Vehicle Market Statistics". This publication is a unique compilation of data on the technical and environmental properties of passenger cars and vans in Europe for the years 2001 to 2010. It provides answers to questions like "What is the level of carbon dioxide emissions by country and manufacturer?" or "What is the market share of passenger cars with real-wheel drive by manufacturer?".

Webinar: Re-Launch of Revised Marketing Best Practice Principles

The 'soft' launch of the Revised Marketing Best Practice Principles will be held at a webinar on Monday, 28 November between 12:00 - 13:00. In June 2010 LowCVP, SMMT and ISBA jointly launched Best Practice Principles for environmental claims in automotive marketing to consumers. In consultation with the respective organisations members, these have been updated in line with new ASA rules.

In this LowCVP webinar, held in collaboration with WhatCar?, Michael Hurwitz Director of the Government's Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), and Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief, WhatCar?, discussed the market prospects for electric cars in 2011. The discussion took place shortly after the introduction of grants worth up to £5,000 towards the purchase of electric and hybrid cars and the arrival of high profile new models to the UK market.

LowCVP webinar: Internet Survey - How accessible is CO2 information on car manufacturers' websites?

A new study into the presentation of CO2-related information on car makers' websites finds that, on average, only 52% of participants’ attempts are successful in finding the official CO2 rating for a particular car. Even in cases where users are able to retrieve a CO2 value for a particular model, only 68% of these are correct. The survey was commissioned by the Energy Saving Trust, FoE Europe and We are Futureproof and the results of the survey were presented in a webinar run by the LowCVP.
